Oakland flutist Justin Lee performs throughout the Bay Area as a soloist and chamber musician. A recipient of numerous awards, Justin has won the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle Competition, the SFCM Concerto Competition, the WWU Concerto Competition, and first prize in the Bellingham Music Club Competition.

Passionate about music education and outreach, Justin has performed for Adventures in Music on behalf of the San Francisco Symphony and also worked for the MILE Project helping to test the effect of music on learning in Oakland public schools. Justin has given master classes at the high school and college level and also maintains a studio of aspiring woodwind students.

Justin completed a Master of Music in Flute Performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music at Western Washington University. His primary teachers are Timothy Day, Zart Dombourian-Eby and Lisa McCarthy and he has performed in the master classes of Emmanuel Pahud, Marina Piccinini, Walfrid Kujala, Zart Dombourian-Eby, Jill Felber, Marianne Gedigian, Paula Robison, Robert Dick, Liisa Ruoho, Robert Stallman, Claudio Barile, and Mary Karen Clardy. 

Justin currently enjoys life in sunny Oakland with his partner Tyler and their two chubby cats, Rico and Islita.
