Anna-Christina Phillips is a clarinet/bass clarinetist based in San Francisco, California with a varied career on the stage and beyond.  In addition to being a founding member of Nonsemble 6, she also is half of the executive team behind San Francisco's Magik*Magik Orchestra, a made-to-order orchestra for artists. Since 2010, she has worked closely with Magik's director Minna Choi in leading all the orchestra’s activities, including a 5-week tour with Death Cab for Cutie in Spring 2012, performances with artists including Zoe Keating, John Vanderslice, and The Walkmen, and more than fifty studio recording sessions.

Annie develops all of the orchestra's educational activities, and her learning-based programs have been featured at San Francisco's Stern Grove Festival, the Contemporary Jewish Museum, and Sanchez Elementary.  She has worked in publicity for the San Francisco Symphony, the Switchboard Music Festival, the Grammy-nominated Bay Brass, and the Sqwonk bass clarinet duo, whose upcoming record Annie is also producing. Known for her natural and expressive style of clarinet playing, Annie trained with Steven Barta at the Peabody Conservatory and with Luis Baez and Jerome Simas at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Currently, Annie spends most of her free time trying to memorize Pierrot lunaire. She also enjoys being outside, biking, hiking, and knitting. For more about Annie, you can visit her website.
